You love each other. You just keep having the same fight.

And you're usually the one who sees it first. The Couples Intensive is one focused afternoon with me to understand your pattern, break it, and find your way back to each other. No months-long commitment.

Dr. Rachel

I've sat with so many women who carry the relationship's emotional weather. You notice the distance before he does. You're the one who reads the books and tries to start the conversation. And you're tired of trying alone.

You don't need to work harder. You need one afternoon where both of you finally see what's happening between you, and leave with a way through it.

How the afternoon unfolds

First hour

Map your pattern

We slow down your most familiar fight and find the dance underneath it: who pursues, who protects, and what each of you is afraid of.

Second hour

Find the trigger point

You each learn what happens in your body in the first seconds things go sideways, and how to catch it before it takes over.

Third hour

Practice a new way back

We work in real time. New words, new pauses, new ways of reaching, with me guiding you.

Fourth hour

Repair and plan

You learn how to repair after a rupture, and leave knowing exactly what to do the next time the old fight shows up.

We're able to communicate so much better. The fighting is less intense and less frequent, and we have a stronger foundation of trust and safety, thanks to this work with you.

If your partner is on the fence

This isn't about deciding who's wrong. Most couples are caught in a loop where each person's way of protecting themselves sets off the other's. Nobody is the bad guy.

It's one afternoon, with a clear beginning and end. You'll leave understanding what's actually happening between you two, and with a plan you both helped make.

Is it right for you two?

It's for you if

  • You love each other and keep landing in the same painful place
  • One of you pursues and the other withdraws
  • Your fights end in distance instead of repair
  • You want real change without months of sessions

It's not the right fit if

  • Either of you doesn't feel physically safe in the relationship
  • One of you has already decided to leave
  • You want someone to decide who's right

If you don't feel safe at home, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or a licensed therapist first.

Questions

Does four hours on Zoom really work?

Yes. The work is about what happens between the two of you, and that shows up just as clearly on screen. Many couples find it easier to open up from home. If you're local and prefer to be in the room, we can meet in Oakland.

What if we're not a good fit?

After you book, you'll each complete a short intake form. If I don't believe the Intensive is right for you, I'll tell you honestly and refund you in full.

Do we need to do this together?

Yes, the Intensive is for both of you. If your partner isn't ready yet, send them the section above, or start with my daylong to feel what this work is like.

What if we want to keep going?

If you join Secure Together within 30 days of your Intensive, the full $1,497 counts toward it.

Is this therapy?

The Intensive is relationship coaching, grounded in my training as a licensed psychologist, attachment science, and somatic work. It isn't a substitute for therapy or crisis care.
